Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Rainey LLC (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Rune AO (the “Service”), including our website, APIs, and the downloadable desktop application.
Quick summary
- We collect account, billing, and usage data to operate the Service, enforce limits, prevent abuse, and support customers.
- Your automation context can be sensitive: screenshots and prompts may include personal or confidential information depending on what’s on your screen.
- We use third-party providers (e.g. Google for sign-in, Stripe for billing, Anthropic for model inference). If enabled, we also send some events to PostHog for product analytics.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive and store identifiers and profile details such as your email address, name, and profile image (as available).
- Customer support: if you contact us, we may collect the information you send (e.g. your message, email address, and any attachments).
Information collected automatically
- Usage and quota events: we record events used to enforce plan limits (e.g. “turns” and token counts) and certain product events. Some events may include metadata you or the client provides (JSON properties).
- Error and audit logs: we may collect client error reports (e.g. error messages and stack traces) and administrative audit logs (e.g. bans, key revocations) to secure and operate the Service.
- Device identifiers: we may store device identifiers such as a device “fingerprint” to associate usage or sessions with a device.
- Authentication and session data: we store session tokens and related metadata to keep you signed in.
Desktop automation content
The Service can process the content you provide to the agent (for example, prompts, instructions, and tool results). The desktop app can capture screenshots to help the agent understand what’s on screen. Those screenshots may contain sensitive information depending on what you are viewing.
The desktop app also stores local chat history on your device (for example in local browser-like storage) so you can reference previous conversations.
Billing information
If you purchase a subscription, payments are processed by Stripe. We store billing-related metadata such as Stripe customer IDs, subscription IDs, subscription status, plan/price identifiers, and renewal dates. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
How we use information
- Provide and operate the Service (authentication, plan management, desktop app linking, and API access).
- Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse (quota enforcement, fraud detection, rate limiting, and policy enforcement).
- Improve reliability and performance (debugging, monitoring, product quality).
- Communicate with you (support, service updates, and account notices).
How we share information
We share information with service providers and partners as needed to operate the Service:
- Authentication: Google (sign-in).
- Payments: Stripe (billing and subscription management).
- Model provider: Anthropic (to generate responses and drive agent actions).
- Analytics: PostHog (only if enabled via configuration). Events may include your user identifier and event properties.
We may also share information (a) with your consent, (b) to comply with legal obligations, (c) to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service, or (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of data:
- Account data: kept while your account is active; may be retained for a reasonable period after deactivation to comply with legal requirements and prevent fraud/abuse.
- Billing records: retained as required for accounting, tax, and compliance purposes.
- Usage and security logs: retained for a limited period (often months) to operate the Service and investigate incidents.
- Local chat history: stored on your device until you delete it or clear the application data.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your choices and rights
- Account access and updates: you can update certain account information through your Google account.
- Data requests: you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information by contacting us at support@raineyllc.com.
- Local data: you can clear local chat history by clearing the desktop app’s stored data on your device.
International transfers
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. These locations may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by posting a notice on our website or within the Service).
